“Meet & Greet” Leona V
In 2018 Sertoma hosted a “Gala under the Stars” fundraiser just to be able to name a Goodwill Ambassador Service Dog for a hearing impaired recipient and we exceeded our expectations.
The outcome was a special gathering to finally meet our puppy, Leona V, who is still in training. Our members recently hosted a successful potluck at the home of Mary and Richard Thomas which included our members and sponsors. Without all that is mentioned and our event patrons, our many fundraising events would never come to fruition ~~~~ we are most grateful! Now we wait patiently to attend Leona V’s graduation.
Most everyone knows that Sertoma is all about “Service to Mankind” also taking great pride in raising funds for local scholarships to include one special scholarship for an Antelope Valley College student who is majoring in deaf studies and/or has a personal hearing disability. Over the many years serving our community, we have done such a wonderful job!
You are welcome to be our guest at one of our 8am breakfast meetings held at Jack’s Place on the first or third Saturday of each month —- by joining us for breakfast you would better understand what our nonprofit organization is all about. PLEASE check our website: leonavalleysertoma.org.
